Spring Break

With money to be saved for a house to be built, we didn't venture far this Spring Break. However, we did have a great time doing fun things around town...flying kites, lunch with dad, playing at parks, etc. I must say, I love having ALL my kiddos home and was sad when the week ended and Ellie had to head back to first grade.

A couple highlights of the week were...

LIVING PLANET AQUARIUM
...

We had a great time at the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy, with some of our good friends in Alpine. It is not the most impressive, grand place in the world, but they do a good job with the limited space they have. Best by far, was the pool of sting rays, as seen in the last two pictures. I never thought I would say this, but the sting ray were actually....cute. Yup, cute. There was one in particular that kept swimming right over to us and sticking it's body(?) out of the water so we could pet it. We are now officially friends with a sting ray. Can you say the same???

LET THEM BE FREE!

I am sure you have all been dying to know that our fat, ugly caterpillars did indeed make themselves a cocoon and turn themselves into (fairly) beautiful butterflies. The whole process was pretty spectacular.

For a good time, get yourselves the Live Butterfly Garden, usually cheapest on Amazon.com.

It was a fascinating experience for all of us, not just the kids. It was not unusual to find Kyle, my mom, or me crouched down staring (for too long) into the butterfly enclosure. In fact, we even videod the "birth" of one of the butterflies, because Kyle wasn't around to see it. With the beautiful weather over Spring Break, it was the perfect time to let them free. Jane was loving the opportunity to hold this little guy (until it flew on her shirt and she just about killed him on the spot)
